Saturday, March 29th 2014 we got to celebrate Brayden's first birthday!
It was nice to put all hectic on the side for even a few hours and enjoy our little man.
We did end up only having a small family get together but family is most important.
Brayden LOVED smashing his cake and playing with all this new toys.
I can't believe it has already been a year since he entered my life and made it perfect.
Everyday I look at him and fall in love all over again.
His big blue eyes always fill me with pure happiness.
UPDATES
Last week (Thursday) at my appointment I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced.
Saturday I had regulated braxton hicks ranging from 10-8 minutes apart.
After almost 5 hours they calmed down and eventually went away.
Sunday Night around 8pm I stated having contractions in my back
along with a rock hard stomach and sharp pains in my lower abdomen.
After two hours they started getting worse and I called my midwife.
She told me to try to go to sleep and to come in if
a) my water broke or b) the pain became unbearable
I got around and started to pack my hospital bag and the contractions calmed down.
By the time I went to bed all I had left was some minor cramping.
This was after I had already told my mom to drive an hour.
Ugh, I feel like Elena's going to pull "The girl who cried wolf" on me.
I'm not going to want to tell anyone thinking it's just another false labor pain
and then she will decide to come super fast and my moms going to beat me.
Not literally, but you get the point! Ha.
Monday we decided that we were going to stay active and walk her out!
After running errands all day and even walking around the mall
we came home and walked over TEN MILES and even some up a hill!
The only symptoms I got were a few Braxton hicks and sore hips.
My poor pelvis bone and hips have never hurt worse.
Some other symptoms I have had are:
increased discharge some lightly tinged with blood
lighting rod like pains in pelvic area
either constipated or diarrhea
yesterday I fought horrible heartburn and gas pains
loss of appetite
exhaustion
I know some TMI but it's a baby coming out of a small hole.
It's not always pretty, ha!
On that note,
38 week bump board.❤
Highlights and Lowlights of my Pregnancy Week 37-38:
Highlights:
- Losing my mucous plug is a sign that I am thinning and dilating!
- I am one week closer to meeting my princess.
- I now go to the doctor every week, which makes time fly!
- Elena's nursery is almost complete. (Still have to organize)
- I am going to pack my hospital bag this week. ( I packed hers!)
- Baby girl is measuring perfectly and is healthy!
Lowlights:
- RESTLESS LEGS. <--- Not as bad this week! I learned taking a prenatal and a warm bath helps.
- Extremely uncomfortable. Yes, I am doing the pregnant waddle even though I am not that big.
- Pelvis pain and pressure!
- Throbbing girl part is full blown now. Plus side means she's dropping right?
- Braxton Hicks many times throughout the day!
- Heartburn
- Migraines
- Constipated
- Dry hair
- Simply, exhaustion.
Weight gain: +17 lbs
Major Developmental Milestones: Your baby is continuing to grow, but the vast majority of his/her organs are mature and fully functioning. The only exceptions are his/her brain and lungs. These two organs are at a point that they will function outside of the womb, but will also continue to mature during childhood.

Stretch marks: It's official. I found a few new ones that are higher up on my stomach. Baby girl is so low!
Belly button in or out: It is an innie outtie!
Sleep: Brayden has been sleeping like an angel and my mom has been helping out. I feel like I shouldn't be tired but I still toss and turn like crazy and wake up to pee at least twice a night. I have to admit I am afraid i'm going to sit up and my waters going to break one of these times.
Best moment this week: I have to say this past week I enjoyed all the time I got to spend with my mom and my little man. The weather has been warming up and we have enjoyed going on walks!
Worst moment this week: Hmm, Id have to say just the tease of having contractions and then them going away. Not knowing when is a killer!
Miss anything: I miss being comfortable. The ability to get in and out a car without my pelvis bone popping. Being able to hold Brayden without cramping up or feeling out of breath.
Movement: This past week Elena's moving is more sticking her foot out my side or in my ribs. She also has had an increase in hiccups! I can feel the hardness of her head when I feel right above my pelvis bone.
Cravings: Capri suns even though they give me horrible heartburn, fruit gummies, fruit and anything sweet.
Queasy or sick: This week hasn't been bad. Just tired and anxious!
Looking forward to: Baby girl making her appearance!
Mood: Focusing on the finish line and keeping this smile on my face!
Upcoming events/appointments: Appointment with my MidWife tomorrow! I am excited to see if I have progressed anymore!
What I look forward to: Elena's birth, SUMMER, and marrying the love of my life this October.
Weekly Wisdom: I speak so much better when I’m silent.
